Vision: In addition to being a nationally and internationally recognized, innovative, and solution-oriented department, the department aims to contribute to the development of basic nursing education and services, and to train nursing professionals who can work harmoniously in teams and who are consistently innovative and creative. Department policies aim to educate individuals who respect universal and cultural values and are trained using science- and technology-based methods.
The Department of Nursing trains nurses responsible for the protection, promotion, care, and treatment of the health of individuals, families, and the community; the program lasts four years. During this period, our students take theoretical and practical courses related to the nursing profession, as well as courses in the basic and social sciences. Practical components of the professional courses are conducted in the relevant departments of hospitals and in schools, depending on the course content. Our students complete the bachelor’s program with a total of 240 ECTS credits, in accordance with European Union standards.
Our department is staffed by an academic faculty composed of experienced instructors.
Our department features 15 classrooms, 1 anatomy laboratory, 1 nursing practice laboratory, 1 computer laboratory, a conference hall, a prayer room, and a cafeteria for our students’ use.
Our students, who will lead the field of nursing in the coming century, can work upon graduation in hospitals, family and community health centers, private healthcare institutions, schools, occupational health and safety services, elderly care facilities, and home care services. In addition, our graduates can continue their careers independently by opening private nursing practices. After earning their bachelor’s degrees, our students can pursue graduate studies and earn master’s and doctoral degrees. They can also serve as faculty members at institutions offering nursing education both in Turkey and abroad. Thanks to the recognition of their diplomas, our graduates can work as nurses responsible for education, research, care, and management services in many countries around the world.
As of the 2026–2027 academic year, our department has a total of 422 students, 29 of whom are international students. Our Nursing Department is staffed by 3 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 2 Instructors, and 4 Research Assistants.
