"Little Hands, Big Hopes": A Morale-Boosting Event for Hospitalized Children by University Students

In collaboration with Aksaray University students and the LÖSEV Community, a meaningful event was organized on October 10, 2026, for the little patients receiving inpatient treatment at the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital Pediatric Ward, along with their mothers. Brought to life with the motto "Little Hands, Big Hopes", the organization reached a total of 40 people—20 children and 20 mothers—providing them with healthy living education and fun play activities.

Aiming to increase the awareness of children and mothers regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors, the event covered basic health topics such as the concept of health, ways to protect against microbes, proper hand-washing techniques, adequate and balanced nutrition, water consumption, regular breakfast, and sleep habits. Additionally, information was provided on the limited use of technological devices, as well as the concepts of cooperation, sharing, and volunteering. Alongside the educational sessions, coloring and balloon-flying activities were held to boost the children's morale during their hospital stay and encourage their participation in creative activities.

Supporting the active participation of university students in volunteer work, students from various departments came together for this meaningful project. The volunteer event team included Betül Huba and Hatice Çelik from the Nursing Department, Aylin Yaşar and Sudenaz Başpınar from the Preschool Education Department, Rabia Zehra Seyis from the Management Information Systems Department, and Hayrunnisa Özbektaş from the Journalism Department.

With the support of the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital management, all educational presentations, coloring materials, and play equipment for the activity conducted in the Pediatric Ward were provided by the LÖSEV Community. The organization was successfully completed, accompanied by the smiles on the children's faces and the satisfaction of the mothers.
