Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemile Kütmeç Yılmaz, a faculty member of the Nursing Department at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aksaray University, and her thesis student Buket Ücel have achieved a significant scientific success on a national scale.
Our team successfully represented our department at the 28th National Internal Medicine Congress, held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus between October 7-11, 2026. The thesis study titled "Investigation of the Effect of Pain on Fear of Falling, Avoidance Behavior, and Fall Self-Awareness in Elderly Individuals," conducted by Buket Ücel under the supervision of Assoc. This valuable study, which drew attention in the field of geriatrics and internal medicine nursing, was awarded the "Third Place Award" following the evaluations in the Nurse Oral Presentation session held within the scope of the congress.
We congratulate our faculty member and student for this meaningful achievement and wish them continued success in their scientific studies.
