The Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Aksaray University organized a comprehensive orientation training for the 1st-year students newly starting in our department for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
The meeting began with the opening and congratulatory speeches by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Didem BALUN KAYAN, addressed to the students newly joining our university. Following the Dean's speech, the academic staff of the Nursing Department introduced themselves to the students, making a warm start to the new academic term.
In the continuation of the event, through the orientation training presentation delivered by Res. Asst. Dr. Mustafa YUMUŞAK, students were informed about the vision and mission of the faculty and the department, as well as the physical facilities offered (anatomy laboratory, technical classrooms). During the training, important regulatory items that students must pay attention to throughout their undergraduate life, such as the functioning of the academic calendar, exam and evaluation systems, and course attendance requirements, were conveyed in detail.
To enable students to quickly adapt to institutional systems, guidance was provided on the use of digital platforms such as the Bologna Information Package, ASUZEM, ASÜM, and RİMER. In addition, Erasmus exchange programs and Student Nurses Community activities, which will support the students' social and cultural development, were introduced.
In the final part of the training, vital warnings were given to raise awareness among students against financial risks such as illegal betting, as well as cybersecurity, protection of personal data, and the security of bank and IBAN accounts, which are of great importance for a safe university life.
The orientation meeting, which took place with intense interest from the students, concluded with a Q&A session and wishes for a successful and healthy academic year.
